Overview
There was a time when the expansion of water supplies, to all households and business in Japan, was an important goal. Ironically, now that this infrastructure is in place, demographic trends are pointing to a decline in demand. Attention is thus turning toward qualitative improvements, including the replacement or upgrading of aging facilities.
NSS can offer a variety of solutions for improved management and accountability, for better human resources and training programs, and for dealing with regional supply imbalances. In addition, we harness new technologies to reduce environmental impact, to prevent pollution and the deterioration in raw water quality, and to tackle various energy-related issues. We have the experience and expertise to ensure that society is supplied with safe, potable water.
Water supplies have to meet strict standards for hygiene and quality, since the lives of so many people depend on a stable and sufficient supply. Simply put, the public must be able to trust water.
NSS’s experiences will help develop new systems for water quality management. In order to provide drinking water that is both safe and palatable, thus innovative techniques are required to remove impurities that are finding their way into water sources but which are difficult to extract using conventional processing. One advanced technology is easy to implement employs membrane purification.
Harnessing this and other new techniques, we are developing treatment plants that provide optimized processing, matched to local water characteristics.
We are also experienced in the upgrading and replacement of aging water works facilities, taking responsibility at every step from research and planning to detailed design and administration. For this we conduct complex hydraulic analyses, predicated on the use of the installed network of pipes, developing plans for an optimum water distribution system tailored to geographical and other local conditions.
